YEAR END POLL: DESPITE NON-STOP ATTACKS BY MEDIA, TRUMP APPROVAL AT 47%…

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 47% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove. The latest figures include 34% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 43% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9. (see trends).

On the heels of Trump’s planned removal of troops from Syria, voters are far less likely to think the United States needs to be more hands-on in the Middle East.

The president, intent on getting U.S. troops out of the Middle East, has angered hawkish members of both major political parties with his decision to withdraw from Syria. Voters tend to oppose his decision as well.

The president said earlier in the year that the “primary mission” in Syria was to get rid of ISIS and that America had “completed that task.” Voters agree the United States is winning the war against ISIS, even if they still consider the terrorist organization a major threat.

In mid-June, 47% said Trump was doing a good or excellent job handling foreign policy. Forty-two percent (42%) rated his performance in this area as poor. We’ll update those findings at 10:30 today.
