President Trump meets with Chairman Kim Jong Un for dinner in Hanoi, Vietnam, kicking off the second summit between the two leaders.
The pair met for dinner Wednesday, just hours before they are expected to restart denuclearization negotiations.
Speaking to reporters upon arrival, President Trump praised the relationship he has with Kim calling it “special.”
The president also voiced his optimism amid the ongoing talks saying, “I think it’ll lead to wonderful it’ll lead to really a wonderful situation long term.”
President Trump and Kim are expected to address denuclearization, sanctions targeting Pyongyang, the Korean War, and the return of additional remains of American servicemembers.
The president previously met with the Vietnamese president to sign trade deals targeting the airline industry.
