President Trump’s approval rating among the Latino population has spiked significantly as he continues to fight for proper border security.
PBS and NPR released the poll last week, which showed his approval rating increased 19% with the Latino population.
President Trump weighed in on the results via twitter on Sunday suggesting the spike can be attributed to the group’s support for his border security vision.
Around 31% of Latino adults approved of President Trump back in December, and now that number is reportedly up to 50%.
This comes just days after President Trump outlined a new border security package in hopes of enticing Democrats back to the negotiating table.
Before President Trump made the speech Saturday, multiple Democratic lawmakers clarified they would not comply regardless of his concessions.
The poll surveyed just over 1,000 people earlier this month.
