The United States began withdrawing some military equipment from Syria kicking off what defense officials call a “deliberate withdrawal” from the nation.
An American military official made the remarks Friday saying additional military personnel will aid throughout the process.
This comes after President Trump announced he would pull the 2,000 remaining troops out of the war-torn country last month.
The National Security Adviser, John Bolton, and Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, have specified this decision has been made in conjunction with the defeat of ISIS.
A timeline for the withdrawal has not yet been specified.
