Pres. Trump To Depart For Second Summit With North Korea

President Trump is expected to embark Monday afternoon to Hanoi, Vietnam, for the second summit with North Korea later this week.

President Trump took to twitter Monday morning saying North Korea could be an economic world power assuming Kim Jong Un continues to cooperate with the White House.

The president voiced his optimism ahead of the meeting citing the fact North Korea has ceased testing nuclear weapons.

Both the president and Kim are expected to discuss denuclearization and sanctions targeting Pyongyang.

Vietnamese officials have confirmed security will be at the “maximum level” with President Trump flying overseas, and Kim traveling by train.

The second summit comes just months after the first took place in Singapore in June 2018.

President Trump and Kim discussed denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, new relations between the nations, and bringing remains of American servicemembers home lost during the Korean War.

The upcoming joint summit will take place February 27 and February 28, with reportedly 3,000 journalists traveling from dozens of countries.
