Authorities in the Netherlands are investigating what they call a possible terror attack after a suspect opened fire inside a tram, killing three people person and wounding another five.
The attack happened Monday morning in Utrecht, just south of Amsterdam, when a gunman opened fire and fled the scene.
A middle-aged Turkish man was arrested and is currently a suspect in the case as authorities refuse to rule out the act as terrorism.
The Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte raised the nation’s threat level to maximum for hours in wake of the attack.
Turkish officials have since condemned the attack saying they stand with the Dutch following the horrific attack.
