Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke raises over $6 million for his campaign during the first 24 hours, surpassing all other Democratic counterparts.
His campaign made the announcement Monday saying it had raised over $6.1 million in the 24 hours after O’Rourke declared he is launching a run for the White House.
O’Rourke released a statement shortly after commending Americans for coming together “to run a true grassroots campaign.”
His Democratic opponent Bernie Sanders raised $5.9 million in the first day, while Kamala Harris raised $1.5 million and Amy Klobuchar with $1 million in two days.
O’Rourke is expected to campaign in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania in the coming days.
