South Korea’s defense chief speaks out against recent reports suggesting North Korea is preparing for another missile launch.
The South Korean defense minister made the remarks Monday saying it is premature to say North Korea is going to restart its missile testing.
His remarks come just days after North Korea threatened to end nuclear talks with the U.S. over its nuclear program.
Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui issued the warning last week while also highlighting the good relationship with Kim Jong Un and President Trump.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo weighed in on the threat saying Chairman Kim vowed against restarting nuclear testing to President Trump during the second summit in Vietnam.
Despite Pompeo’s remarks, Choe made it clear North Korea is unwilling to compromise with the U.S. over its nuclear arsenal.
Pompeo made it clear he remains hopeful nuclear talks between the U.S. and North Korea will continue.
This comes just weeks after reports surfaced suggesting there was satellite imagery evidence North Korea had been preparing for another missile launch.
