Denver Schools Close As Woman ‘Infatuated’ With Columbine Massacre Remains At Large

UPDATE at 5:30 p.m. ET: The suspect has been found dead, according to law enforcement.

Schools in and around Denver are closed after an 18-year old woman, who authorities say is “infatuated” with the Columbine massacre, is armed and on the loose.

Schools were closed Wednesday after officials claim the woman made threats, though they were not specific, before traveling to Denver on Monday.

According to FBI officials, the young woman immediately went to the store and purchased a pump action shotgun and ammunition after arriving from Miami.

The woman reportedly has a history of making “concerning comments” and according to officials, most of the threats she made were verbal.

Over 20 schools closed their doors on Wednesday and were on high alert just one day before with hefty security in place.

Police have not specified what threats the woman made as they continue to look for her.

The Columbine shooting happened almost 20 years ago to date.
