System outages strike several major airlines prompting many flight delays across the country.
The Federal Aviation Administration released a statement regarding the glitch saying the technical issue is affecting “a flight planning weight and balance program called Aerodata.”
Southwest, United, JetBlue, Delta, and Alaska Airlines were among the airlines affected.

Southwest Airlines also released a statement on the outage saying it has caused “scattered delays” and will release more information on the glitch when it becomes available.
The company also urged its customers to check Southwest.com for the status of current flights.
Delta Airlines also released a tweet apologizing for the inconvenience but did not offer a timeline depicting when the glitch would be resolved.
