Report: TSA to Send Officials to Southern Border Amid Immigration Crisis

The Transportation Security System is expected to deploy hundreds of employees to the southern border as the immigration crisis continues.

According to a Fox News report, TSA is currently recruiting volunteers to travel to the southern border “while minimizing operational impact.”

The deployment could consist of up to 400 officials ranging from lawyers to air marshals in an effort to secure the southern border.

According to the report, the decision has not been finalized and will not affect airport security screenings.

Government data indicates U.S. officials apprehend around 3,000 migrants every day while over 200,000 people have been apprehended in the last two months alone.

The move will reportedly last between 45 and 60 days but it could potentially be extended.
