Senate Holds Vote on Bill Regarding Pres. Trump’s War Authority

The Senate held a vote on Friday to clarify the president's authority to strike Iran as tension continues to mount with the Islamic Republic.

The Senate Friday voted on a measure that would prohibit President Trump from using military action against Iran without approval from Congress.

The provision, authored by Sens. Tom Udall of New Mexico and Tim Kaine of Virginia, appeared headed for defeat but will garner the support of a few Republicans. The vote, which began at 5 a.m. Friday, is expected to last for hours.
