Marine who saved baby in Kabul will NOT be disciplined by Marine Corps for attending Trump rally

U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Hunter Clark will reportedly not be disciplined by the Marine Corps for attending a rally for President Trump in September, according to Business Insider.

Clark, who was serving in Afghanistan during the violent and chaotic military withdrawal, is also the now-famous Marine who was pictured pulling a baby over the airport wall in Kabul, rescuing him from an onslaught of people hoping to be evacuated.

In September, Clark was invited onto the stage by President Trump at a Save America rally in Perry, Ga. “You saw him, he did a great job,” Trump announced to a cheering crowd. “Lance Cpl. Hunter Ian Clark. Lance Corporal get up here!” Clark then mounted the podium and made a few brief remarks. “I am the guy who pulled the baby over the wall and it’s definitely probably one of the greatest things I’ve ever done in my entire life,” Clark stated.

After the rally, the U.S. military announced that it would be starting a command investigation of the Lance Corporal, although the reasons why were unclear. Capt. Kelton J. Cochran, a spokesperson for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, stated that they were looking to see if “DOD policies were violated.”

After nearly two months of speculation, a source for Business Insider has reported that the investigation against Clark has concluded, according to documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.

Colonel Eric Cloutier, the Commanding Officer of the 24th Marine regiment where Clark was assigned, stated the following: “While [Clark] identified himself at the prompting of former President Trump, [and] in doing so did speak at a political event, he did not do so in a manner which violates the applicable references.”

Thankfully, this investigation has concluded and Clark can rest assured that there are countless Americans who commend him for his service as well as his bravery while on the ground in Afghanistan during such a turbulent withdrawal.
