President Trump’s upset win against Hillary Clinton may happen again as some analysts believe Clinton may be “the best option” for Democrats come 2024.
According to a Wall Street Journal piece, the Biden-Harris administration’s low approval ratings combined with a series of domestic and foreign crises has opened the door for Clinton to be a potential Democrat frontrunner for the 2024 presidential election.
“Given the likelihood that Democrats will lose control of Congress in 2022, we can anticipate that Mrs. Clinton will begin shortly after the midterms to position herself as an experienced candidate capable of leading Democrats on a new and more successful path,” the article predicted.
The authors claim Biden’s advanced age and dreadful first year in the White House has “created a leadership vacuum in the party” that Clinton “could fill.”
While Trump has yet to officially announce his bid for 2024, the country may relive another Trump versus Hillary showdown.
As Biden’s presidency crumbles amidst record-high inflation, botched Afghanistan withdrawal, unconstitutional vaccine mandates, and a gripping supply chain crisis, Trump continues to rank highly among voters.
According to a recent Rasmussen Reports poll, the majority of American voters, 52 percent, claimed to have a good impression of Trump and 85 percent of GOP voters have a favorable view of the 45th president. Both numbers have risen compared to his last days in office.
As Democrat support decreases and GOP support increases across the country, another presidential victory could be in Trump’s future if he decides to run in 2024.
